I have been wearing my "Sunray" necklace pretty much everyday so it was starting to look a bit dull and lacklustre, it needed a clean. I have to admit I take it off each night and have it sitting in a cute jewellery dish, however this does mean it is sitting out. Ideally jewellery should be put away in a box, airtight. However, if I leave the necklace in its usual bowl on my dresser I see it every morning and put it on which brings me joy!
So I wanted to share these steps so you can look after your jewellery, and how to make your jewellery shine again. Whilst the pendant is made from Fine Silver, which doesn't tend to tarnish, it can look a bit dull and grubby after a lot of wear. It is after all a natural element, so needs to be treated with love and care.
A Gentle Way to Clean Handmade Jewellery
Step 1: Prepare a Cleaning Solution
Mix lukewarm water with a mild soap or washing up liquid in a small bowl. (I literally use fairy liquid)

Step 2: Soak and Clean
Place your jewellery in the bowl and soak for 10 minutes, this will help loosen any dirt or oils.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry
After cleaning, rinse your jewellery under warm water to remove soap residue. Gently pat it dry with a soft microfibre cloth and let it air dry completely before wearing.

Jewellery Care Tips:
Avoid exposing your gold filled jewellery to harsh chemicals, perfumes, or lotions.
Avoid sleeping in your jewellery to avoid damaging the small parts of the chain or pendant or earrings
Avoid showering or bathing/swimming in your jewellery. The chlorine/salt water & chemicals may impact the metals
Store your pieces in a dry and clean jewellery box or pouch to prevent tarnishing.
Regularly wipe your jewellery with a soft cloth to maintain its shine.
